Paramedics arrive and I’m med-flighted to UW Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin where I awake days later after surgery and begin life as a quadriplegic. It’s taken me four and a half years to be able to watch this video.

Responding to a question about his final thoughts before hitting the ground, he wrote: “I glanced at the ground a couple of times. The last time I was not far above tree-top level and my thought was, “I hope this doesn’t hurt.”
